But I don’t wanna. It’s too hot.

ahahahahhahaahahaahahaa... wait can you even change oil with those temperatures... wont the oil just evaporate as the car melts around it?
(also hiya.. ive finally found me way to oppo and will be bothering everyone from now on... pleased to be here)

Oh gods, and is it humid too?

This is when you pay someone else to do it.

This is Texas, so of course it’s humid. :(

But I hate that. I also need to change my front brakes. Sigh.
![]() 07/30/2017 at 16:06 |

Yep. It barely costs more than the oil does regardless.... which is a bit unnerving, but it works. Way worth it in heat like that.

After having experience 103-104 heat index myself in Ohio, no one should be outside or doing anything in that kind of heat, holy shit.

My car maintenance is seasonal, it’s cheaper to pay someone else to do it when the heat is dangerous and will most probably cause me to make mistakes or cause a trip to the ER.

Time to bust down a wall and do the oil change in your air conditioned living room
![]() 07/30/2017 at 16:10 |

Do it at night.
Or bring it to Michigan and I’ll do it for ya.
![]() 07/30/2017 at 16:14 |

It’s still swampy with humidity at night. But a cross country trip to Michigan sounds nice. What’s the best place to eat?

I like the way you think.

Oh, I’m pretty well acclimated to this heat. Only thing that would happen is that I’d sweat. But that’s the thing: I HATE sweating.
![]() 07/30/2017 at 16:17 |

It’s not fun. It wouldn’t be so bad if the air wasn’t also thick with moisture. Means the sweat just sticks to ya and doesn’t go anywhere.

Yeah that’s stay inside weather

It was 86% humidity and 93 degrees, I was standing in my garage, not moving an inch, and the sweat was just dripping off my face, nose, everything. it was awful. I retreated to air conditioning.
Of course after I left to go get my stuff from Seattle, it went to mid-70s and mid-40% humidity. TYPICAL.

Haha. I waited until the temp dropped to 105F to change mine. We have a heat index of only 99F today amd it is glorious.

That’s hiking weather in these parts. Although we did have six people die in a weekend last year while hiking in the city. 105 is alright with plenty of water, 110-115F and you better bring a water truck.

Oh yeah. I know how that goes. I wait till late at night to take my garbage out. The five minute walk there and back leaves me drenched. Not fun.
![]() 07/30/2017 at 17:14 |

For the first time in a while, I think I’m going to pay someone else to do it. It’s not so much the heat by itself, but laying on my back on black asphalt.
Truth be told, depending on how much oil your car takes. It’s actually not that much more expensive to pay someone to do it. My brother use to have a Silverado and we just took it to a local lube shop, because they could do it for the same price as us doing it.

You need an air conditioned shop. I can’t recommend them enough. My dad brought his car over last weekend and we did a bunch of work on it and didn’t even break a sweat.

MOTHER OF GOD 93 degrees at 8pm??!?!? :O
Nooooooo, get out of there and bring it up here to the Illinois/Wisconsin border! I have sweet ramps, a cold house, and fun local hangouts!

Ye gods, that’s 40 deg in English.
As far as I’m concerned my personal max is 20 C. Anything above that and you can’t do anything without sweating like a very sweaty thing.
![]() 07/30/2017 at 18:38 |

do it at night :p
or you could’ve done it at like 5am
![]() 07/30/2017 at 18:44 |

I need to do the same.
Last week was in the 100's. I think I’ll do it tomorrow. I also need to call the IRS, they owe me money.

I am a Southerner. More specifically, I’m a Texan. Doesn’t mean I *like* the heat.
